Full Diagnostic Assessment of Dyslexia

If you’re concerned that your child may be dyslexic or is showing signs such as difficulties with reading, writing, spelling, working memory, or processing speed, a full diagnostic assessment can provide clarity and direction. This in-depth assessment explores your child’s cognitive and literacy profile to identify both strengths and areas of difficulty. Where appropriate, it can lead to a formal diagnosis of dyslexia.

The assessment is carried out by a fully qualified Level 7 specialist assessor who is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). The resulting report is written in line with SASC (SpLD Assessment Standards Committee) guidelines and includes tailored recommendations for support at home and in school, as well as evidence for access arrangements where applicable.

Screening Assessment of Dyslexia

If you're unsure whether a full diagnostic assessment is needed, a dyslexia screening can be a helpful first step. Carried out by a fully qualified specialist assessor, the screening involves a shorter selection of tests that explore key areas linked to dyslexia, such as phonological processing, working memory, and literacy skills. While it does not provide a formal diagnosis, it can indicate whether dyslexia is likely and whether further assessment is recommended.

Following the screening, you will receive a concise 1–2 page summary outlining the results, along with practical recommendations for next steps and support strategies at home or in school.

Specialist Tuition

We provide one-to-one specialist tuition for children from Reception through to GCSE, tailored to support areas they find difficult—whether that’s reading, writing, spelling, numeracy, or study skills. Our sessions are designed for children who experience challenges with learning, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis.

We work with learners who may have diagnosed needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, or autism (ASD), as well as those experiencing anxiety or Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). Our tutor is a qualified Level 5 specialist teacher and Level 7 assessor, with expertise in supporting a wide range of learning profiles.

Unlike general school tutors, specialist teachers are trained to understand the cognitive and emotional factors that can impact learning. This allows us to use evidence-based strategies and a supportive, flexible approach that helps each child build confidence, develop skills, and achieve meaningful progress at their own pace.

SEN Support

We offer specialist support and guidance for families, children, and professionals navigating the world of special educational needs (SEN). Whether you’re at the beginning of the journey or facing specific challenges along the way, we can help you make sense of the process and feel more confident in the steps ahead.

Drawing on extensive experience, up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, and the latest research, we provide tailored advice on a wide range of SEN matters. This includes support with access arrangements for exams, Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications, annual reviews, understanding assessment reports, and effective communication with schools and local authorities.

We can also attend, support, and contribute to meetings—whether that’s school-based reviews, EHCP discussions, or multi-agency planning—ensuring your child’s needs are clearly understood and appropriately represented.

Whether you need clear information, practical help, or someone to talk things through with, we’re here to support you with professional, compassionate advice.

Access Arrangements

We are fully qualified to assess for and award exam access arrangements in line with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations. Access arrangements provide essential support for students who have difficulties that may affect their performance in formal assessments, such as challenges with reading, writing, processing speed, or concentration.

Schools can employ us to carry out individual assessments and provide the required evidence to support applications. We can complete the necessary paperwork, including Form 8s, and ensure that all documentation meets current JCQ guidelines. Our assessments are carried out by a Level 7 specialist assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), ensuring full compliance and professional standards.

Whether you're a school seeking additional assessment support or a parent looking to understand your child’s entitlement, we can provide expert, reliable guidance and assessment.
